History

Singapore Fruits and Vegetables Importers and Exporters Association (SFVA) was first established in 1948 by a group of fruits and vegetables importers in Singapore. At that time, the association then, had only seventeen members and the office was located in one of Singapore early wholesale markets at Carpenter Street. With the information of the pasir panjang wholesale Centre (located off West Coast highway) in 1983, many fruits, vegetables, preserved and dried foodstuff. Concurrently, in the same year SFVA relocated its base to new centre in Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre.

SFVA's main mission is to promote and expand the development of fruits and vegetables trade in Singapore. As a contrast point to promote and expand the development of fruits and vegetables trade in Singapore. As a contact point to promote member’s interest the association helps to foster closer links amongst members and facilitate the association helps to foster closer links amongst members and facilitate valuable networks and the various government ministers and trade organization.

Since then, the SFVA had organized many activities for their members. To help members keep track of current trends and developments, the association led two successful trade mission trip to Australia and Cameron Highlands. The association is also keen to help members develop strong links with overseas exporters and importers. Each year, the association welcomes many overseas trade visits and meeting sessions providing members and visitors with vast opportunities to exchange information and most important of all, promote bilateral trade.

SFVA has since grown and reached a member size over 50 members. The association intends to expand further and to actively explore new overseas trade and opportunities for its members as well as looking at ways to improve and upgrade the industry.
