On behalf of the Australian Trade Commission, I would like to compliment the Singapore Fruits & Vegetables Importers & Exporters Association (SFVIEA) for its excellent work and invaluable contribution towards the growth and development of the fruit and vegetable sector in Singapore.

The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) is the Australian Government’s trade and investment development agency. We assist companies around the world to source goods and services from Australia as well as offer international businesses a single, integrated point-of-contact for all inward and outward investment inquiries. Austrade is represented in more than 100 locations in over 55 countries as well as across Australia.

Over the decades, it has been our immense pleasure to work closely with SFVIEA and its members to introduce and promote new fresh produce varieties from Australia to the local market. Singapore is a vital trading partner for Australia and the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA) has further strengthened the strong bilateral trade ties between the two countries.

Australia is well known around the world for supplying high quality and wholesome food and beverage products, including fresh produce. Singapore is an important export destination for Australian fruit and vegetables. Singaporeans recognise Australian fresh produce as superior in quality, freshness and taste. In 2010, Australia exported approximately S$ 83 million worth of vegetables, fruit and nuts to Singapore, making Australia one of Singapore’s key suppliers of fruit and vegetables.

We would like to congratulate the association for producing this invaluable directory, which forms a convenient reference tool for its members and the industry in general.
