On behalf of the Singapore Chinese of Chamber of Commerce & Industry, I would like to congratulate the Singapore Fruits & Vegetables Importers and Exporters Association (SFVIEA) on the launch of its new Members’ Directory.

Since its establishment in 1948, SFVIEA has contributed significantly to the growth of Singapore’s fruits and vegetables trade through its continuous efforts in fostering closer ties among its members and industry.

Although Singapore has limited land for planting, we continue to enjoy a steady supply of fruits and vegetables throughout the year at affordable prices. SFVIEA has worked with the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore to actively seek out new sources of supply and invest in food supply establishments overseas.

The SFVIEA also ensures that Singapore’s fruits and vegetables supply complies with the international standards of hygiene and handling process. SFVIEA is continually enhancing its infrastructure and post-harvest technology, and implementing cold-chain distribution as well as improving packaging for the benefit of consumers.

The SFVIEA is a valued trade association member of our Chamber. One of our key objectives is to work closely with SFVIEA and the other 136 trade association members towards the forefront of excellence and internationalisation in different trades and industries. Therefore, we are confident that the Member’s Directory will provide new opportunities for our enterprises and raise Singapore’s profile as a major player in the global market.
